In 1983, Congress first adopted an appropriations rider that required the Postal Service to deliver mail six days a week, a rider that has been included in every appropriations measure since. And for more than three decades, the Postal Service has been trying to find a way to eliminate that requirement. NALC supports H.Res. 12, which calls on Congress and the Postal Service to take all appropriate steps to continue six-day mail delivery. I signed the paperwork and gave it our union hall president in indiana. it was basically ignored and the another branch outside of ours assigned our state president as our local steward. I have been working and researching on how to make our branch a Functioning Branch, since we were deemed a non functioning branch by the powers that be. I need help with what steps to take to actually hold an election. there are only 5 of us in our office that pay dues, and we never have had any meetings or elections before. Also, we are so short staffed that one of our members is now a 204b until we have a new supervisor hired, and that member is afraid that he or she can't vote moving forward as they want us to function properly.
